The new FT-818 incorporates all the basic and attractive features of the popular FT-817ND while providing the desired updates for radio amateurs. Also now includes as standard: Battery and charger. The supplied Ni-MH batteries (SBR-32MH) has been upgraded to now provide a higher battery capacity: 9.6v / 1900mAh.
For more than forty years, Yaesu has been a world class brand, in the design and manufacture of high performance multimode HF transmitters for use in base stations, FM mobile phones and portable transmitters.

Despite its incredible small size (5.3 "x 1.5" x 6.5 "WHD) and light weight (approximately 900 grams), the FT-818 develops a great performance! This is the next generation with greater power amplification in all bands using the transient 2SK2975 MOS FETs to provide 6 Watts of power (AM: carries 1.5W) in the bands 160-2 meters, plus 70 cm (13.8V DC input). You can choose between four power levels. /2.2/1/0.5 W. Prepared to operate on 8 "AA" alkaline batteries, the FT-817 can also be operated from an external 13.8 Volt DC source, or from the battery pack.
