New from Icom 2026. According to information officially provided by Icom Spain to its distributors in August 2026, the availability of the ID-5200E and the MBF-11 kit is scheduled for September 2026 .
PACK A is especially recommended for those who want to install the new ID-5200E in a vehicle and have the specific mounting system for the controller and main unit available from the start.
The ID-5200E represents a new generation of Icom D-STAR mobile transceivers. It operates on the 144 and 430 MHz bands, offers a maximum power output of 50 W , and features a large color touchscreen , simultaneous dual-band reception, DV/DV operation, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
One of the major new features of the ID-5200E is its waterfall display , which allows users to graphically observe activity around the frequency being used. Icom presents it as its first mobile transceiver equipped with a waterfall display, also incorporating the Memory Scope function.
The digital capabilities have also been significantly enhanced. The equipment incorporates comprehensive D-STAR functions, including Terminal mode, Access Point mode, and DV repeater monitoring . Its full simultaneous reception even allows for DV/DV configuration, considerably increasing operational possibilities.
The new ID-5200E also incorporates an integrated TNC compatible with KISS mode , allowing APRS to be used via a computer . Icom also plans to add APRS compatibility directly to the device itself through a future firmware update .
Connectivity is another of its strengths. Thanks to the inclusion of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth , the ID-5200E can establish wireless connections with smartphones, computers, and the internet, providing a much more versatile platform for today's radio amateur.
