The ID-5200E is announced by Icom Spain as a new product for 2026. The transceiver is expected to be available in September 2026 , while the new MBA-19 is expected in October 2026 .

PACK B is specifically aimed at users who want to take advantage of the ID-5200E's detachable controller and install it with only the front panel in the operating area , using the specific MBA-19 support included in this set.

With the ID-5200E, Icom introduces a new generation of D-STAR mobile transceivers for 144 and 430 MHz . Its design features a large color touchscreen accompanied by independent controls for each band, facilitating the operation of both frequencies.

One of its most striking new features is the addition of waterfall display . This function allows for a graphical view of the activity around the selected frequency and is complemented by the Memory Scope Function , providing the operator with visual information that was previously uncommon in this type of mobile transceiver.

The ID-5200E offers full simultaneous reception on two bands and supports Dualwatch even in DV/DV configuration. This allows you to take advantage of D-STAR capabilities on both bands and provides greater flexibility when monitoring different communications simultaneously.

Icom has also significantly enhanced connectivity. The device incorporates Wi-Fi and Bluetooth , allowing for wireless connections with smartphones, computers, and the internet. In addition, it includes GPS and an integrated TNC with KISS mode .

This TNC allows APRS to be used from a PC . Furthermore, Icom announces that a future firmware update will enable APRS to be used directly from the ID-5200E itself, further expanding its capabilities without requiring a replacement unit.
