The new EDD-24XT is a portable nonlinear junction detector (NLJD). It detects all types of electronic devices, whether active, passive, or even switched off.
It will detect the presence of semiconductor circuits used in all modern electronic devices, such as cell phones, tracking devices, listening devices, hidden cameras, digital voice recorders, SIM cards, etc. Importantly, the EDD-24T will detect such devices whether they are turned on and in use, turned on but in standby mode, or even turned off without power. Semiconductor electronics are used in all modern electronics and are manufactured using silicon substrates. When high-frequency radio signals are transmitted directly onto silicon, a strong second harmonic frequency of that radio signal is produced. The EDD-24XT transmits a focused directional signal at 2.4 GHz (ISM Type B band). It receives at 4.8 GHz (second harmonic) and 7.2 GHz (third harmonic).
